Course descriptions

 

At our training centre in Bath, we offer group, one-to-one and combination courses throughout the year. Client-specific courses and closed group courses can also be arranged on request. We have particular experience in the following specialist areas:

INDIVIDUAL TUITION

Individual Tuition is designed for people with specific needs, and those who prefer to work on a one-to-one basis. Each course is tailored to the precise needs of the participant, and offers complete flexibility in content, language levels and dates.  There are two versions:

• Intensive (5 hours per day, recommended for people with a lower level)

• Intensive Plus (6 hours per day, recommended for people with an intermediate

  level or higher, especially if they come for only one week).

 

 

COMBINATION COURSES

Combination courses provide the opportunity to combine one-to-one training to focus on individual needs with practice in small group sessions for meetings, negotiations, social interaction or telephone/conference calls.

• Combination 1 courses (50:50) consist of 15 hours of individual tuition and 15 hours of group work.

• Combination 2 courses (75:25) consist of 22.5 hours of individual tuition and 7.5 hours of group work.

  

 

PROFESSIONAL ENGLISH (MINI GROUP COURSE)

This group course is for people who need to improve their English for professional situations such as meetings, presentations, telephoning, conference calls and socialising. The course is designed to be taken in two-week blocks or in separate one-week modules. The Professional English course can also be combined with one or more weeks of Individual Tuition.

 

 

EFFECTIVE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATION (MINI GROUP COURSE)

This group course is at a higher level than Professional English and lasts one week. The focus is on improving communication skills for effective participation in international meetings, conference calls and presentations. The course develops accuracy, effective performance and intercultural understanding. The Effective International Communication course can also be combined with a week or more of Individual Tuition.

 

 

EFFECTIVE INTERNATIONAL MEETINGS (MINI GROUP COURSE)

Th         This 3-day group course aims to improve performance in international meetings, with a strong emphasis on intercultural aspects of         of communication. Can be combined with two or more days of Individual Tuition.

 

 

EFFECTIVE PRESENTATIONS (MINI GROUP COURSE)

 This 2-day group course aims to improve performance for presentations in English. The focus is on language, style and overall   

 effectiveness. Can be combined with three days of Individual Tuition.

 

 

CLOSED GROUP COURSES

These courses are specially designed at the request of individual clients. Closed group courses have been run in Bath for MPs from the Swedish Parliament, university lecturers from Norway, teachers of business administration from vocational schools in Germany, public relations managers from a German energy company and doctors from the Paris Hospital Authority. The course length and group size is completely flexible, and often includes meetings with British counterparts.

Booking fee and cancellation policy

 

Please note that there is a booking fee of €75 per booking. This covers all course administration, refreshments during the course and training materials. Lunches are not included.

 

If a group course is cancelled by LTS, we will upgrade you to a combination course or 5hrs individual tuition course at no extra cost. If a combination course is cancelled by LTS, we will upgrade you to a 5hrs or 6hrs individual tuition course at no extra cost.

 

If you need to cancel a course, our cancellation policy is as follows:

Courses cancelled by Friday 5pm two weeks before the course incur no cancellation charge; by Friday 5pm one week before the course there is a 50% cancellation charge; and less than 7 days before the course there is a 100% cancellation charge.

 

 

 

Accommodation in Bath

 

For courses in Bath, we can arrange accommodation with host families of professional status, or in a selection of hotels, B&Bs and guesthouses. For those who would like more independence, we can also arrange accommodation in furnished apartments.

 

Host Family Accommodation:

€350 per week including breakfast and dinner
 

Hotel Accommodation:

€60 - €150 per night including breakfast

 

Short stay apartment (self-catering):

from €550 per week
